At a special luncheon in December, Janet Dautenhahn was honored with the 2022 Paul A. Lux Award in recognition of her outstanding achievements, dedication, integrity and commitment to Luxco®. The coveted award – a glass martini shaker engraved with Janet’s name – was presented by MGP Board Member and former Luxco CEO Donn Lux.

According to her nomination, Janet earned this year’s Paul A. Lux award because, “She has always done a phenomenal job of taking care of the Lux family and Luxco employees. When MGP Ingredients bought Luxco and her job changed, she didn’t miss a beat, pivoting to be successful in her new role supporting a much larger group of people. Janet truly embodies our values of integrity, respect, and commitment.”

Janet has worked at Luxco for 26 years altogether, with a few years away before returning in 2012. She started in Finance and then transitioned to an executive assistant role in the St. Louis office. Janet credits her career longevity to the people she has worked with – especially the executive team:

“Everyone on the executive team is great and very easy to work with,” she said. “I like being able to help people and do things for them that they don’t have the time to do.”

During her time at Luxco, Janet served as an assistant to Donn Lux and also worked with his late father, Paul, for whom the award is named.

“This award is so special to me, because I grew up with Donn and his family and I know the meaning behind this recognition,” added Janet. “Paul was a great man, who was very good to his people and a good leader for his company. It has been an honor to work for the Lux family, and now, an honor to receive this prestigious award.”
