In an exciting start to 2024, Luxco® expanded its family of branded spirits with new expressions and limited-allocation offerings that debuted during the first half of the year.

Penelope® Bourbon

Penelope Bourbon Tokaji Cask Finish

The award-winning Penelope Bourbon Tokaji Cask Finish is the third installment in the brand’s Cooper Series. The limited-allocation rye whiskey is distilled eight years and bottled at 106 proof with a two-grain mash bill of 95% rye and 5% malted barley. Notes feature a nose of dark chocolate-covered raisins and almond pastry; a viscous body of sweet honey and caramel with hints of orange zest; and a savory finish highlighted by black cherry, tobacco and red wine.

Penelope Rio™

This limited-allocation party in a bottle is a double cask finish of American honey and Amburana, a Brazilian hardwood. With a four-grain mash bill of 74% corn, 16% wheat, 7% rye and 3% malted barley Rio is offered at 98 proof. Notes feature an aroma of sweet honey coupled with cinnamon rolls; a rich body of gingerbread, honey, nectar and baking spice; and a savory finish with subtle honey and spice.

Lux Row Distillers®

Ezra Brooks® 99 Port Wine Cask Finish

The first in a planned series of annual finishes for the Ezra Brooks 99 family, this new release is finished in port casks from Portugal for six months and bottled at 99 proof with a mash bill of 78% corn, 10% rye and 12% malt. Its distinctive packaging features callouts and a special label color highlighting the port cask finish. Notes feature vanilla, tobacco and leather on the nose and sweet fruitiness and dark chocolate on the palate.

Blood Oath® Pact 10 Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey

Lux Row Master Distiller and Master Blender John Rempe marked a decade of distinction – and secrecy – by renewing his annual pact with bourbon drinkers by releasing a limited supply of this new offering. Bottled at 98.6 proof, Blood Oath Pact 10 combines two well-bred ryed bourbons and one finished bourbon, with a double finish to honor the double-digit milestone. The first finish was perfected in Cabernet Franc barrels for rich flavors of tart raspberries and black pepper. The second was refined in Merlot barrels, instilling the tastes of red stone fruits with undertones of vanilla, cocoa and anise.

Limestone Branch Distillery®

Yellowstone® Rum Cask Finish

The four-year-old bourbon is the second release in the Yellowstone Special Finishes Collection. This new release starts with Yellowstone’s traditional bourbon mash bill followed by finishing for nine weeks in casks that held rum distilled with molasses and sugarcane grown in the rich, fertile soils and tropical Caribbean climate of Cuba before being bottled at 100 proof. Notes feature spice and tropical sweetness; a medium body of toasted marshmallow, crème brûlée and toffee toasted oak; and a finish with tobacco, clove, cocoa, seasoned oak and honey.

Irish Brands

Saint Brendan’s® Irish Cream Espresso

The new variety is made with award-winning, triple-distilled Irish whiskey, all-natural cream from Irish dairy farms and robust coffee flavor. Notes feature aromas of coffee and dark chocolate on the nose, silky cream and sweet whiskey on the palate and a warm sugary finish that highlights the rich espresso flavor.

The Quiet Man® Barman’s Code Irish Whiskey

Award-winning Irish whiskey from Northern Ireland and a touch of sweet Marsala wine from Sicily come together in the first in a series of limited-edition offerings from The Quiet Man Irish Whiskey. Aged ten years and finished in Marsala wine barrels, the new release is produced in small batches and bottled in Northern Ireland at 86 proof. Notes feature candied fruits and honey on the nose; subtle spice and cherry on the palate; and a sweet, fruity finish with a touch of heat.
